We met at 18 and have been together for 11 years. Somehow the universe brought together a girl from Hong Kong, and a boy from Ohio!

Gail and Toby met at a small art school in Columbus, Ohio, roughly 8000 miles away from Hong Kong where Gail grew up and 30 minutes away from where Toby grew up. Toby happened upon Gail's dorm on the second day of school and saw her knelt on the floor, gloves on, elbows-deep in a girl's hair that she was dyeing bright purple. This meeting felt appropriate, because Gail is always up to something and Toby possesses a boundless, insatiable curiosity for whatever Gail is up to.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We've been together for over a decade so it's hard to distill that all down to one Big Memory! But if we had to pick, probably the first time Gail took Toby to see Hong Kong. It was Toby's first time in Asia, and for Gail, bringing someone all the way to her childhood home from the States was a monumental step for them. Traveling such a distance together so early on in the relationship (they'd only been dating a year) proved to be a great litmus test for the two as life partners.
What would you do with $20,000?Toby and Gail have purchased a beautiful 120-year-old house together. Between Toby's expert carpentry and design skills and Gail's eye for details and novice ability to use basic hand and power tools (thanks Toby), they would love to put the prize money towards restoring the home and maintaining its beautiful, historic character.
