We like each other… that’s really it, the magic ticket. While many say that marriage is hard, we agree that life is far better together.
We would like to thank you for supporting Theo and Melissa in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Theo was living with a friend, finishing college, Melissa was living in South Florida dating a guy who grew up with Theo. Melissa and her boyfriend at the time traveled to Tallahassee for a wedding and went to hang out with the boyfriend's sister (and a close friend of Melissa) and her new boyfriend, Greg. On the drive over, Melissa's boyfriend informed her (a bit sarcastically) that she was going to like Greg's roommate. Melissa was skeptical, but when they knocked on the door, Theo answered.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? It would be impossible to choose just one. The births of our children were incredibly special, we love to attend weddings together, Theo is the best wedding date and we love to celebrate our friends in love. Our most cherished times together are spent at home, talking and laughing together. Our wedding day was a wonderful day. It was simple, casual, and intimate. We married in my mom's back yard, and my childhood best friend's father officiated.
What would you do with $20,000?We would put some of it away, and use some to take a vacation alone together. It's been 12 years since our last solo vacation and now that our kids are old enough to spend the week with my mom, we would love to go see someplace new and exciting together.
