Our love story began in the most unexpected way through the randomness of college schedules and train commutes. We first met during our second term in the Anatomy and Physiology course at LaGuardia Community College. At the time, I wasn’t thinking about relationships at all. I was focused on my studies, navigating the intensity of science classes, and enjoying the social aspect of college in my own outgoing way. I’ve always been someone who talks to people around me, especially during school.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Our favorite memory was me becoming the legally exempt child care provider for his niece while in school full time. Thank God LaGuardia provided daycare services. We juggled classes, feedings diaper changes, cleaning, daycare drop-offs, and pick ups and borough-to-borough travel with her. Raising her together bonded us deeply, being her peace during a chaotic time in her life brought us closer. Now, her unconditional love for us is a constant reminder of the love and teamwork we built early on.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20K, we’d build an emergency fund, pay off some high-interest debt, and invest in a Roth IRA, and start up business. We would use some to fix or upgrade our home to cut ongoing costs. This would help us feel more secure and start building a better financial future.
