Connect How did your love story begin?

We met at church on New Year’s Eve by way of a match-making attempt by a mutual friend. I was a liturgical dancer and my husband was preparing his first sermon as a preacher. In the midst of a New England blizzard, against all odds, God led us to meet one another after the clock struck midnight. We both believe it was ordained by God for us to be together after each of us had made a covenant with the Lord of celibacy for several years. Our union soon became one of love and romance.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

My husband and I share a passion for international travel. We are often enamored by the people, food, music, and architecture, but above all, an appreciation of the blessings and opportunities to explore new things together. One such experience occurred when we visited Israel a year after our wedding. The church trip allowed us to walk in the steps of Jesus Christ, as the Bible came to life with each landmark. The most memorable part was being baptized in the Jordan River.

What would you do with $20,000?

Our Biblical principles lead us to be obedient to what God has ordained as our financial responsibility which is to tithe at least ten percent of any monetary gains. We will do so by providing this percentage to our local church as a way of blessing others with what the Lord has blessed us with. The remaining portion will be saved as a down payment for our dream home. Ministry endeavors will occur at this home in hopes of pouring into other married couples.
