Connect How did your love story begin?

We actually met online, she lived in Wisconsin and he was living in Georgia but visiting family up north. The timing worked out that we bumped into each other online and then he left for Georgia a few days later. After about six months of being terribly patient, he came back up to WI, we finally met in person, and the rest is history. Now we’re a team! It’s funny, because we both grew up really close to each other near the same small towns. We must have just missed each other so many times.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The most pivotal moment in our relationship was him moving up from Georgia. He can’t drive and when he went to get his things all of his plans and help fell through, so he was stuck. So, like any reasonable person would do, Madilyn flew down to Georgia, bought a hearse with less than 24 hours notice, packed his stuff in it and road tripped back up to Wisconsin. Not only did surviving the long trip cement our relationship, but we’ve been the local weirdos in love that drive a hearse ever since.

What would you do with $20,000?

First up, travel! Our dream travel itinerary is the same as an old, retired couple, a lot of nature walks, historic tours, antiquing and trying new food. The first stop would definitely be Italy. The rest of it would be put towards a house, we’ll keep our eyes open for the perfect Victorian house to restore that would fit all of our oddities, art supplies, and a large kitchen. Madilyn is a jewelry designer so we would be lying if we said none of it would go to something sparkly.
