How did your love story begin?

We met at a Christian convention in ’97—I wasn’t looking, but Chris’s kindness stood out. Despite distance and a breakup, wise words from my grandma helped me see his value: “If a man has goals and includes you in them, keep him.” We married in 2003, welcomed our son in 2006, and through challenges, including autism, we’ve grown stronger. Chris is still that same loving, determined man—and I thank God I didn’t let him go.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our dream trip to the Maldives in 2022 took years, setbacks, and sacrifices—COVID, surgeries, broken appliances—but we made it. Wiring resort payments overseas was nerve-wracking, but Chris made it happen. When we finally boarded that Qatar flight, the look on his face said it all. No words—just shared pride and relief. Flying business class, with no help from anyone, was a moment we’ll never forget. I’m still so proud of him.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won $20,000, we’d use it to secure our autistic son’s future. He dreams of owning a restaurant, but our greatest fear is him being alone and unprotected when we’re gone. We’d put the money toward legal and financial support, and paying off our home—so he always has a safe place and can live with dignity. Others dream of vacations or big houses—we dream of peace of mind, knowing our son is safe, stable, and cared for.
