How did your love story begin?

We were just a couple of college kids out enjoying summer freedom. His friend tried to shoot his shot—confident, bold… and completely barking up the wrong tree. I looked at him and said, “Who is your friend?” (points at Brandon sitting quietly). “He’s a cutie, what’s his name?” And just like that, I dodged a dud and aimed straight for the quiet cutie (and the love of my life).

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

It’s hard to pick just one favorite memory; after 22 years together, how could I? I could be cliché and say the day he made me his wife (which was pretty incredible), but our story has so many beautiful chapters. The births of our three children, and the way he looked holding each of them for the first time; I’ll never forget it. The late nights he spent finishing his bachelor’s degree while working full time, showing our family what dedication truly looks like.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, we would celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with a church renewal ceremony—we were married by a judge and saying “I do” with God this time is my desire (we did not put Him in the forefront when we were younger). We would also finally take the honeymoon (family vacation) we never had. After 22 years of love, laughter, and sacrifice, this would be a beautiful way to honor our past and step into our future!
