Fake anniversaries, sketchy motels, roses & rifles, chaos & charm, yet somehow still cute. We’re a hot mess, but make it romantic.

We met on Tinder because where else do great love stories start these days? Our first date was at the Texas Jazz Festival, where we found ourselves near the wine section with absolutely nowhere to sit. So naturally, we joined two nearby couples to snag a spot at their table... but in true improvisational genius, we told them we were celebrating our one-year anniversary. Bold move for a first date, but it worked! A year later to the day, we got married.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our first Thanksgiving trip to visit my family. We booked a motel that looked decent online but showed up to pink walls, towels folded into swans, and the smallest bathtub known to humankind. There was a man pacing outside our door (still not sure why), and a group of people trying to start a parking lot football game and cookout. We considered joining, but opted for locking the door and attempting a romantic bath instead. Like a rom-com with questionable lighting.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d invest in growing things...literally and figuratively. I’d love to get my Master Gardener certification and expand my rose and flower garden into a bouquet and plant business. He’d like to enroll in a gunsmithing program. So yes, flowers and firearms....the love story America didn’t know it needed.
