We are highschool sweethearts, adoptive parents, and nonprofit farm sanctuary founders. We are chaotic, compassionate, and totally in love!
We would like to thank you for supporting The Santosas in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
I was the first kid to introduce myself in homeroom on the first day of high school in Minneapolis. Sarah started crushing on me right away even though I was a long haired emo BMX jerk and she was a bubbly colorful art kid. Took me longer than I'd care to admit but by the next year we were dating and have been ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We have done so much. We went through high school, moved to Seattle, bought and remodeled a house together, built careers and businesses, survived IVF and infertility, and moved to Whidbey Island to start a nonprofit farm sanctuary with our adopted daughter. But our favorite memory has to be the day that we finally got to take home our 1 month old daughter from the courthouse in CA after legally adopting her.
What would you do with $20,000?We would donate it to Ballydídean Farm Sanctuary, our 501(c)(3) animal rescue to further our family's mission to educate kids and rescue farmed animals in need in the Pacific Northwest.
