Connect How did your love story begin?

We met on Tinder (as most fantasy novels go). We were both college students, and she almost chickened out of our first date after seeing him cross the street. She thought he was way hotter than expected, and then he was so nervous that he waited to see if she picked up her drink or drank it at the table, because he didn't want her to think he was weird. We got engaged after 7 months and were married within a year of that. From there, she became a social worker and he supports her every day.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is after a funeral. Our best friend died after a 6-month fight with cancer, and the night of the funeral, we went swimming and then drank at Applebee's with our other friends and her mom. Sitting there, singing A Day to Remember (shout out to our waitress), we knew we would always have each other, no matter how hard things were. That summer was full of tragedy, but it made us stronger.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would use the money to travel. She is finishing her masters in social work and can't work while doing practicum hours. She is also developing a brand new social work program in our county, which involves lots of unpaid hours. We want to have a baby in the next few years, but before that, we want to have our girly pop, rom-com travel montage moment before we commit to raising the coolest, kindest kid in the world.
