Connect How did your love story begin?

1991 the door man walks up to a girl… He checked my ID, the cigarette smoke so thick it made your eyes burn, the beer pitchers were cheap and the bands were legendary - Tool, No Doubt, Stone Temple Pilots, Sublime, The Vandals… We closed it down and came back for more over and over. For our 20 year anniversary, we celebrated in that same bar, with some of the same bands and all the characters who made our life, along the way.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The early days of being broke, working the jobs and hustling to make our dreams come true. Shortly after meeting, we were engaged and two years later moved from suburbia in Southern California to urban San Francisco, for Scott to go to college, for a degree in illustration. We quit our jobs, relocated and went all in. The memories of that time were working hard, living off rice and ramen; saving to take exotic trips and an occasional splurge on a night out in SF. 32 years in and still going…

What would you do with $20,000?

Imagining what to do with a gift like that, to honor the favorite couple achievement would it be spent on a trip or purchase of an Italian villa for $1 to restore for future living or go in on a small privately owned coffee shop to preserve local vibe in an area now surrounded by modern coffee chains, or there are the two kids we raised to pursue what they love, college grads pursuing masters degrees, helping set them up for the days ahead or donate to dog rescue to support future of goldens.
