How did your love story begin?

In November 1977, Steve and I met when my brother, who was taking flying lessons from Steve, was taking his cross-country flight and our dad and I went flying with them. Over the next seven years, we would see each other at family gatherings. In November 1984 ‘something changed’ when I was looking into getting a new car and Steve offered to go with me. After that night, we were inseparable and were married the following year. That short flight in 1977 led to a lasting adventurous love story.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

After being married for 40 years, we’ve had many wonderful memories! From supporting each other in our careers and education to becoming parents to two wonderful kids and grandparents to five amazing grandchildren. As our story began we love to travel. We have travelled to various locations. With more plans to travel soon, including Greenland. We are the best of friends, soulmates and the inspiration that keeps us going when all else fails.

What would you do with $20,000?

We plan to travel more and share these adventures with our family. Our dream would be to take our family on a European vacation to trace family history in Scotland, England and Denmark to walk the paths of our ancestors. We hope these adventures will continue to inspire them to pursue their own dreams, to seek adventure, and to always be curious about visiting unfamiliar places.
