We had known each other for many years, but were just friends. We were at different stages in life, and lived in different states. Through Facebook we had kept in touch for over 10 years. One day in college, I asked Patrick to come visit for a weekend. We had a great time, but then I had to move to Massachusetts for grad school. After school I came home and we dated for a short time. It just wasn't right yet. About two years later we tried again and everything just seemed to fall into place.

While we have a plethora of great memories together, a more recent one that stands out happened while on vacation in Los Angeles. We had gone to LA for a week's vacation to visit Universal Studios. They were having an event called Universal Fan Fest Nights and one of the fandoms being featured was Star Trek. Being huge fans, we were beyond excited to go. The whole event was fantastic, but the best part was absolutely getting to stand on the actual set-used bridge of the Enterprise!

Our dream is to explore across Europe. We want to take a few weeks and go country hopping. Patrick has a degree in European history so it would be awesome for him to visit these places in real life. I just love traveling and want to travel the world. The other option would be to visit Dubai which was our original honeymoon plan before my dad passed away and my mom was diagnosed with cancer.
