We met as teenagers—Marcus was friends with my brother. One weekend, while I was visiting my dad, my brother brought Marcus over. It was love at first sight. I was a wild Kansas girl; he was a strapping English gentleman. We started as friends. He’d hold the door for me, serve me first, and always check on me. He was kind, respectful, and genuine. After nearly two years of friendship, we took the leap—and the rest is history.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?One of our most cherished memories is the day we became parents. After 13 years together, we decided it was time—but the road wasn’t easy. We faced three years of trying, and survived a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy. But through it all, we held on to hope. The day we finally held our son in our arms was the most beautiful moment of our lives.
What would you do with $20,000?Our son was diagnosed with a very rare genetic autoinflammatory disease called NOMID. It’s a lifelong condition that requires ongoing, specialized medical care. Financial support would greatly help us manage his medical needs and treatments. We’re also hoping to move into a newer, safer home better suited for his health and comfort. Any help toward these goals would mean the world to our family.
