What makes us a great couple isn’t luck—it’s love with purpose. Perla and I met by chance, but nothing about our journey has been accidental

After a 90-day break from dating, I felt ready—heart recalibrated, soul open. On a whim before a trip to the Dominican Republic, I gave the universe a nudge. I connected with her—my future wife—and from a simple “Hi,” came a spark. After a slightly slow start, we soon fell asleep nightly with phones to our ears. Three weeks later, I met her in Santo Domingo. I saw her and thought, “I’m home.” One kiss later, I knew: this was forever.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory? The night I proposed—equal parts chaos and magic. I’d just met her family (nervous, sweaty, broken Spanish) and somehow got their blessing. We raced to our beach hotel for sunset—room mix-up, luggage drama, no hair gel! On the rooftop, dancing and laughing, I dropped to one knee… and the ring flew out of the box. Through tears and laughter, we said yes. A perfect, messy, beautiful beginning to forever.
What would you do with $20,000?Like most newlyweds, we’d probably put it toward a house—but honestly, I’d want to travel first. I want my wife to see the world. I’ve been lucky to explore this planet, and now I want her to taste its flavors, hear its music, and soak in its beauty with those bright, curious eyes. She’s the kindest soul I’ve ever known, and with her blessing, I’d use that $20,000 to give her the world—one unforgettable trip at a time.
