We were cast in a play together as a divorced couple with intense scenes from anger to regret. We didn't like each other much. He was playing around, didn't take his role seriously. I was just the opposite. As we got to know each other off the stage, we joked about our characters and our own exes. After rehearsals, whenever the cast went to have a drink, we found ourselves only talking to each other. The play went on, and we'd fallen for each other oddly making our performance the best!

We took a road trip across country from Indiana to Oregon where our daughters live. We only stayed in quaint little motels and only ate at little diners. We took our time and enjoyed and shared in dozens of sights and activities. It was not long after I suffered a massive attack on my spinal cord and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I had fallen into depression unable to work or drive anymore or walk without a cane. Alan was patient, loving, and gave us memories we cherish.

We will take another trip, this time to the Northeastern parts of the US. Our dream is to see the beauty in every state. We have 11 to go. With this money, our dream would happen. Because we are both on disability now, our income is less than half of what it was ten years ago. This trip is so important to us. Any money left will go toward purchasing life insurance policies that neither of us have. Since we have little to leave them, we don't want our kids to have to pay our funeral expenses.
