Connect How did your love story begin?

We were both in the USAF and stationed in Okinawa, Japan. I first met him in a briefing and went up to him and talked his ear off & he thought I was a little crazy. I didn't see him again for a year. I deployed and ran in a different crowd, until one day I went to church with a friend and there he was! We became really good friends and then he deployed. We talked on the phone once a week. He got back to Japan Feb 9th, asked me to marry him the 15th and we got married the 25th. its been 16 years

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

There are so many it is hard to choose. I think I'd have to say our anniversary trip to Key West. We never really had a honeymoon so for our anniversary a few years ago we went to Key West for a few days and just had the best time. We made friends everywhere we went, had great adventures, conquered my fears and drove a speed boat, and just spent so much intentional time together at the beach.

What would you do with $20,000?

Since moving back to America after the military we have not traveled outside the US as a couple. I would love to go on a grand adventure together to a new country we haven't been to together yet. Like Italy or something. And then with some of it get our oldest son his first car since he is about to start learning how to drive very soon!
