We met in 6th grade (2009), grew up together, overcame long distance (UK/US), and only got stronger with time!
We would like to thank you for supporting The Mortlocks in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Sam and I met in 6th grade gym class at East Ridge Middle School—he was the soccer captain that day and picked me for his team. We went through all of middle and high school together. Funny enough, my mom actually taught him in elementary school shortly after he moved to the U.S. from England—she knew him before I even did!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our destination wedding in Mexico with 110 of our favorite people from around the world was unforgettable. We’ve shared many of the same friends since school, and after years of long-distance, getting to marry your 6th grade crush surrounded by our closest family and friends in such a beautiful place made it all the more special.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, Sam and I would merge his expertise in custom carpentry with my love for the wedding industry to launch a custom wedding rental business. We’d focus on creating unique, handcrafted decor and custom pieces to elevate weddings, offering couples something truly special. Our goal is to bring personalized touches to every celebration, ensuring each event is unforgettable and beautifully designed.
