Like all great love stories - 2 opposites attracted on the internet. After messaging for a few months, we started our 1st date in a store parking lot. Once we confirmed no serial killer vibes , we continued on with season ticket seats at a minor league baseball game - Go Giants! Then drinks & conversation over a teppanyaki dinner till late in the night. Teppan would be our go to celebration meal including our wedding reception two-years later. As two quintessential Gen Xers, our favorite memory is connected to love of the film Blazing Saddles. Early in our relationship, while picking up snacks in a store, there was a bin of random DVDs. Debra would hold one up and ask Mike his favorite movie quote to see if it matched hers. The 4th movie she held up was Blazing Saddles and they both blurted out in unison “Where the White women at?” Since then it’s been our team name for scavenger hunts and a date night staple.

The pragmatic answer is to pay off the two air conditioning units recently installed in our house. Second would be pay for travel as we continue our journey to find a place to land in retirement. From our first overnight trip when we went to Vegas for New Years Eve to our most recent trip to check off Debra’s bucket list by saying PROST in Germany at Oktoberfest, we want to spend our golden years as travel buddies. Although retirement isn’t necessarily close, $20K would help get us there.
