Connect How did your love story begin?

I all began when I (Ashlyn) moved into the neighborhood just two doors down from Jackson's house. It was August of 2016, we were just 17. As told from my husband's perspective, I was immediately a hot topic among all the neighborhood boys and Jackson new he had to act fast before the other guys made any moves. Jackson asked me out on a date that was just perfect. A picnic, swaying cottonwood trees, fire roasted apples, dancing by firelight... It was something out of a book. Just perfect.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Definitely the day we saw each other after 3 years of being apart. I had gone off to play soccer in NC, & Jackson was headed off for a 2 year mission trip in FL (FYI: mission rules only permitted us to communicate via email or snail mail). About a year into his time in FL, I decided I wanted to serve a mission too (I went to TX). The day I flew home and saw him in the airport waiting for me is one I will cherish for the rest of my life. Despite all the time apart, he was there waiting for me

What would you do with $20,000?

What an absolute gift this would be to our little family. Jackson is just about to embark on a new journey of attending Law School in VA! Though very excited, we are, of course, nervous about the expenses of tuition, housing, and just plain living. We know life always has a way of working out though, so we are pretty optimistic! If we were to win this money, we would invest it in our future by applying it to law school costs.
