Met pre-COVID, fell in love in lockdown, now powerlifting parents chasing PhDs, health, and toddler giggles…strong in every way.
We would like to thank you for supporting The McCadneys in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met on a dating site like many millennials. We quickly felt comfortable, sharing similar family values and culture. After a few dates, Covid hit. As a healthcare worker, it was a frightening time. When Omi got sick and quarantined, it was difficult, but we grew closer. We spent time hiking, cooking meals, and supporting each other, which deepened our bond in a way neither of us expected.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? Our favorite memory as a couple was bringing our daughter home after 31 days in the NICU. She was born prematurely, only 5 lbs, and we were terrified but overjoyed. That day made us feel complete as a family. We got through it together with love, strength, and the support of our family and friends.
What would you do with $20,000?We would start a college fund for our daughter, set aside a portion in savings for emergencies, and save the rest to help with moving expenses. Once Omi completes their PhD, we plan to relocate when Omi secures a tenure-track position at a university.
