We met on a group trip to Thailand 9 years ago! As we explored the cities and islands we started to spend more time together, we kept laughing and getting closer. After the trip, we knew we both met someone special and decided to try long-distance dating. We flew from Seattle to New York every month, and after a year, Mikel moved to Seattle so we could live together. After 8 years, we got married in July 2024!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?This past April/May, we moved across the country from Washington to Connecticut (in my tiny Honda Civic). We spent four crazy days driving across the country, and days after arriving in New York, we flew to Paris for one month. This trip was the most special time of our life; we got to spend so much uninterrupted time together doing everything we love—traveling, eating, walking, etc. We worked so hard to save up for this trip and we’re so grateful we did it before starting our new jobs.
What would you do with $20,000?We are about to (hopefully!) buy our first house, so we would use this money to make the house a home! And also, use some of the money to spoil our fur baby frenchie, Mr. Pigglesworth!
