We had a few classes together at URI but didn't connect until Senior Week. Our first date was a week after graduation. He picked me up, asked if my mom was home and promptly introduced himself to her. It was unexpectedly traditional of him and I had never been so nervous. He took me to a burger place near campus, then we got ice cream, and ended the night walking along the beach. It was a very southern RI date to start our summer and we knew this was something special.

Our favorite memory is moving into our first home together in 2022. We had both been living with our parents since we started dating, especially during COVID, and each worked hard in our careers to reach a point where we could buy a home. Moving in was an easy transition, it felt natural, and it was an exciting start of our shared life. Friday nights quickly became our favorite: good takeout, a movie or show on the couch, and the comfort of being together in a space we made home.

This would go towards our September wedding. Marriage was always in the cards, but we hadn't imagined a wedding itself. What began as a small ceremony with 50 guests has grown into a 130 person celebration with loved ones. We’re focused on keeping it simple and fun, while staying grounded in the whole point of the day: making this vow and choosing each other every day as we continue growing together in life.
