Connect How did your love story begin?

We met in college—he was the flirty frat guy, I was the focused sorority girl with big travel plans. Love wasn’t on my radar, but he was persistent—and before I knew it, he’d won me over. I chose him over the passport life, and I’ve never looked back. Marriage is not easy. It is the ultimate investment in each other—a winding road of ups and downs that we’ve walked side by side for. Thirty years later with two beautiful grown daughters we are still laughing, learning and growing.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One of my favorite memories is an anniversary road trip we took—no rush, no agenda. We stayed at a cozy Airbnb, wandered through antique shops, shared quiet conversations and lots of laughs. We savored great food and even better company, soaking in the views and living in the moment (something I find hard to do!) It was simple and slow, and that is what made it great. Just us, being us—and that made it unforgettable.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I won $20,000, I’d plan a dream trip for just the two of us—somewhere we can unplug, explore, and celebrate the life we’ve built together. After 30 years of love, laughter, and raising a family, it would be a gift to pause and reconnect. The rest, I’d set aside for something special for our daughters—because our love story made their story possible, too.
