After Mshengo made a full recovery from emergency brain surgery, we vowed to love each other forever and now have 2 beautiful girls!
We would like to thank you for supporting The Jacksons in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We met dancing out with friends 24 years ago. Over drinks we learned that we were both in education and his mother interviewed me for a teaching position I didn’t take a couple of years prior. Mshengo vaguely remembers me from that interview because he was working at the school at that time and his mother who was the director took me on a tour of the school to see the facility and meet the staff, so his mother technically interviewed me before we became a couple.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? All of it! All 24 years! But if we had to choose one it would be our first date. Mshengo gifted me a bouquet so big it needed its own chair at dinner and the movies and when we went out dancing afterwards it needed to sit in the coat check area. He was so embarrassed and I thought it was so cute. It was a beautiful night and we didn’t want it to end. We walked around for hours just talking in downtown historic Philadelphia and eating ice cream from WAWA on a lovely summer night.
What would you do with $20,000?We would continue beautifying our yard. Our dream is to have an outdoor kitchen complete with a pizza oven, patio, pergola, beautiful furniture for dining, entertaining and lounging around, and a kids play area for our 5 year old and “teen area” for our 13 year old. We already have an AquaScape swim pond so sprucing up the rest of the yard would bring a cohesive look to the design of the yard.
