We both needed to get a haircut to “stay in regs” as we passed each other by, I (Travis) said, “Nice cut!” And she replied, “Thanks!” She went on to call her Mom later that evening to tell her she had met the man she would marry. The next few weeks we bumped into each other, eventually we began talking; talking turned to weekly dates spent around base as we were both in different phases of our “tech school”and after just six weeks of knowing each other, we got married! The proposal. I (Travis) had a grand plan in store - involving a tree where I fell in love with her as I thought her to dance, as well as silicone rings, as they were all that was available on base - She had just finished “Rucking” 6 miles that day, which made her very sore and tired. We would either put it into a college fund for our little boy, use it for a down payment on our first house, or use it to finally have our wedding ceremony and honeymoon! The military kept us too busy to be able to have anything “Normal” so that would be absolutely incredible!
