After 15 years, we still compliment each other so well. As parents of 3, we are always busy, but always adventuring with our kids!
We would like to thank you for supporting The Hallwachs' in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
We worked together and didn't really talk much with each other for quite some time. One night, I was out with coworkers and she reluctantly met up with us and we finally started talking and fell for each other hard. A short time later, we moved in together and were expecting our first child - fast forward almost 15 years and we are still crazy for each other, always make each other laugh, and love hanging out with our 3 kids!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? We were driving home to Michigan from a weekend trip to Louisville, and I'm not really sure what started it, probably one of my awful dad jokes, but we were both laughing so incredibly hard that we were both weeping for close to 2 hours. That was 10 years ago, and we still laugh about that moment. Really, any long drive is our favorite time, singing, joking with each other - the best times.
What would you do with $20,000?We would do 2 things: When we got married, our daughter was 2½ years old, so we didn't go anywhere for our honeymoon (we couldn't imagine leaving her for more than a night), so we would go on a little weekend getaway somewhere to celebrate each other. We also have become the neighborhood gathering spot for our neighbors, friends, and our kid's friends, so we would use the bulk of the money to finish our basement to be the ultimate hangout spot for everyone. Cheers!
