Connect How did your love story begin?

We met on a dating app. We were both trying to get back into the dating world after ending unhealthy relationships, but ended up finding each other right away. Macee messaged first (which was a brave move on her part, she’d like to add), asking the name of Jared’s cat. The sassy grey lady shared a name with Macee’s childhood dog, so it was fate! We scheduled our first date for a Saturday, but were too excited and ended up scheduling one the Thursday before—we just couldn’t wait to meet.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is when we said “I love you” for the first time. We disagree on when it was, where we were, and who said it first, which caused some laughter when we both referenced it in our wedding vows. Regardless of who said it first, we were on a couch at one of our apartments and it was VERY early on. Funnily enough, we got engaged on the couch, too, when Jared proposed on accident. Macee’s response? “Of course, but are you serious?” (I thought he was joking, I was so taken aback!)

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, we’d start a family. Our whole lives, we’ve dreamed of raising good humans. Not just being parents, but really and truly creating positive, caring people who can bring light to our chaotic world. That money would allow us to kickstart the process, with enough to step back and really take the steps necessary to have and raise good people, without having to worry about the red tape of today’s world.
