She is my best friend. Fell in love 26 years ago, but life kept us apart. 13 years ago she found me again, after we looked for years.
We would like to thank you for supporting The Friedrichs in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
It was love at first sight. She walked in to my job and our eyes met. I knew instantly I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Times were different then, and being gay was not excepted. So our love was a secret we kept. Being incredibly young at the time, and struggling with coming out, life got in the way and we let go. In 2012 she found me on Facebook and told me she still had a poem I written her on an order ticket that she had kept in her purse all these years. We never let go again.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? The first time we saw each other again after being apart, it was love at first sight all over again. We spent the day and night in New Orleans. We walked around holding hands, we kissed and didn't care who saw. We had found each other again and this time we weren't going to let the world stop us. When we talked about the future, we knew it belonged to us. For the first time since we were children, we found home in each others arms. It was the happiest day of our lives, for the moment...
What would you do with $20,000?Give some to charity obviously. When you receive a blessing, it is best to share it. But we would also pay off some debt, and maybe a small vacation.
