Connect How did your love story begin?

We met during a free period in high school and became inseparable. We went on hikes, dates, and met each other’s families. it reached a point where I couldn’t imagine life without him. Then we faced hardships... my dad passed in 2017, his grandma in 2018, and my mom went to jail in 2019, which led us to move to Colorado. Now our love story consists of snowboarding, rock climbing, and exploring the outdoors together.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Our favorite memory is our wedding. Family flew in from TX, IL, PA, MI, & CA, many meeting for the first time. It felt like a full circle moment from driving to CO with nothing but clothes and hope, to now hosting everyone in a state we call home. Showing them why we moved here meant everything, especially since few had visited before. The best part was despite rain all morning, the sun broke came out and the clouds cleared just before the ceremony, like something out of a movie.

What would you do with $20,000?

If we won $20,000, we would pay off our debt and save the rest, maybe even put it toward a down payment on a home or land to start our family. We have always dreamed of having a baby, but promised ourselves we would have a home first. With Colorado’s housing prices, it’s felt out of reach, but this would bring us one step closer to turning that dream into reality.
