How did your love story begin?

We met Jan 2015 in Colombia, during orientation for new jobs as English teachers in the country. He surprised me by remembering my name later after a brief 1st meeting. One night, the entire group went out Salsa dancing and we hit it off on the dance floor. He surprised me with his insane confidence & our ability to laugh together all night long. We maintained a long distance “friendship” until we were a month away from finally living in the same city, Cali, Colombia. We’ve been together since!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

We decided on a very intimate wedding so we could have a more memorable honeymoon. We backpacked for 3 months through Thailand, Malaysia and India. We ate street food, bathed & fed elephants, participated in the Yi Peng festival, rode camels in the desert & learned how to scuba dive. For 3 months, we spent very little money on material things & more on memories that will last a lifetime. Now we share stories with our kids with the hope that they develop a love for seeing the world as well.

What would you do with $20,000?

We’d love to go on a big family vacation. Neither of our kids (4 yrs; 10 months) have been abroad, so our first international trip would be to Costa Rica or Portugal. Our parents are huge helps with raising our kids, so we’d bring them along with us. The remainder of the money would go towards their future endeavors.
