We met at an LGBTQ-affirming church—friends turned study buddies, bonding over coffee, late-night talks, and spontaneous adventures. Love found us in the snowstorms of 2010, wrapped in blankets, Over the Rhine playing, cozied up in one room warmed by Hank the Heater. Our first Christmas tree was a repurposed Halloween decoration— imperfect, but ours. We didn’t plan to fall in love—we just kept showing up. In the quiet, we built a home out of each other. And we’ve been building ever since.

There's so many memories to choose from! One that comes to mind is celebrating our first anniversary by taking a road trip to Ohio to hear our favorite band Over the Rhine play in their own backyard. Going on adventures around the world has to be at the top - holding a baby coati in Mexico, driving through the rain forest in Puerto Rico, buying a car in Kalamazoo and driving back through Niagara Falls... We've had a blast just experiencing life together!

Since the pandemic we've found it increasingly harder to find the expendable income and time to take a proper "honey-versary." We both love the outdoors, and experiencing new places and sights, and we want to buy a camper so we can have a little home on the road. Additionally we are in the process of looking for land to buy for a communal homestead, where we can offer safety, love, and shelter to those in need, because we both feel others should get to experience what we found in each other.
