We met online as a 99% match. The only question we answered differently? She said 2–3 months. I said forever. We met halfway at Pokagon State Park in Angola, IN on Election Day 2020. A two hour date, one perfect kiss, and somehow we just knew. After the heartbreak of past marriages, we still showed up open to love. A year later, we bought a house. Three years later, we got married, and I became stepdad to the smartest, funniest kid I know.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?It's hard to choose just one! Our first kiss on our first date on a little dock overlooking a lake at Pokagon State Park. With every kiss, it transports us back to that moment every single time. There is also our engagement in Chicago, our legal wedding on the dock where we first met, our elopement to Gatlinburg, and our honeymoon to Italy and Spain. Friends joke that it seems like we’ve been married 3 times now, and we plan to keep it going. Who wouldn’t want to keep marrying their best friend?
What would you do with $20,000?We would set it aside for our son’s higher education. He is a brilliant and funny kid who has more mechanical intelligence than either of us. It will take him far and we hope to set him up for success.
