Connect How did your love story begin?

We met through mutual friends but fell in love through bowling league and book club. Our first date was kayaking where we just parked our boats in the water and talked for hours. After that we both knew we were going to do big things together. We took a weekend trip to Savanah in a tree house to make some big decisions because I was about to go to Bali for a month and what that would look like. We call each other the yin and yang because it’s our perfect description of how different yet unified.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Traveled to Guatemala together. We rushed to Miami for his passport, took a red-eye, got stuck at the airport. I fell as soon as we arrived and we just laughed. We knew then we could do anything as a team. We climbed volcanoes, ate amazing food, visited the Jade museum—named our daughter after it. We drank tequila under the stars and set goals we now live. I love this man with every bone in my body.

What would you do with $20,000?

We would take a honeymoon for our 5year anniversary this coming April. We got married 4/3/21. The wedding was planned and Marcus received an amazing promotion we couldn’t refuse but it meant relocating to Alabama. That same week, I found out I was pregnant with our first daughter Jade. So at our brunch wedding I skipped the champagne and the next day (Easter) we drove off into the sunset to Alabama….. hearts full and boxes packed. Our wedding date was 4321 for a reason, hasn’t stopped yet!
