How did your love story begin?

History class freshman year of hs; we had one conversation and no interest in each other. With 3 years between our next interaction, that had changed dramatically, as we became friends, love abruptly followed. Commitment had found us just before Covid hit, as we were emotionally entangled. Almost immediately, we broke quarantine with each other, essentially moving in together just months after being together. Ever since, we've been taking slow and steady steps into responsibilities of maturity.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

The moments we shared as teenagers in our first car, a white Honda CRV. With complicated home life there weren’t many places to get away and as cramped as a car can be, we made it work. We drove down the backroads of our home town, parked by a creek or a field, and turned our back seat into our personal sanctuary. Learning more about each other, our infatuations only grew.

What would you do with $20,000?

The money would allow us flexibility to start the next chapter of our love story. A lovely vineyard wedding (+honeymoon!), Jana’s medical schooling, and Tannyr’s sommelier certification to start his career. We’re hoping to have kids in the next 5-10 (who knows, maybe we start a ferret farm), and this would allow us the ability to fully experience our early twenties before that exciting commitment.
