How did your love story begin?

The odds were against us, but we proved love wins. I was 38 and he was just 24. We met in CA. I was young for my age and he was wild but ready to settle down. He took on not only me but a 4yr old. We eloped in a few months and everyone said we were crazy. We moved to Alaska and made a home here. We had to adjust to each other’s lifestyle, I was from LA and he is from AK. We have a daughter and have been married 17 yrs now. We endured all the ups and downs of our age difference. So many stories!!

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

One day we were out fishing. There was no one around us for miles. Just us and the most beautiful Alaskan scenery. It was our 15yr anniversary. I started to cry. He asked me what was wrong and I said I love everything about our life. We are truly going to make it forever. I felt it in my soul. This is everything I ever wanted. And he simply said….me too. We sat in silence for the next hour, crying and smiling. It was a surreal moment and my favorite. (Besides the birth our daughter of course!)

What would you do with $20,000?

Lots of repairs a 40year old house needs. Build our daughter a concrete slab to play basketball on. Repair our 2 broken cars inc. windshields for both. And if there’s any left, we would join a gym as a family. We need to get healthier together (she’s an athlete, we are too fat). That should spend it all!
