After many years of being divorced and single and after many, many dates with others, we found each other on Match.com. I was Tom’s first Match.com date (and he was probably my 50th). Tom tells people that he felt he had to reel a 300 pound fish in on a 10 pound line, but once I finally fell, I fell HARD! Although, I did tell him months later that I called my friend after our first date and said “I’ve met the man I’m going to marry”!
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?We have so many, but I believe one of our favorite sayings is “my cup runneth over” when we are surrounded by all of our kids, in laws and now 3 grandkids. Sadly, my son passed from fentanyl poisoning 2.5 years ago, but this devastating life loss has only pulled our blended family closer. Our family vacations are the envy of many and we feel so blessed to get along so well!
What would you do with $20,000?We would donate half to the organization for which I speak in schools about the fentanyl epidemic, Alumni in Recovery and also the silent memorial, The Black Poster Project, of which my son is sadly a part. So much education and awareness is needed to end this horrid epidemic killing our youth! The other half would be used toward our grandchildrens’ 529 plans.
