Connect How did your love story begin?

We were about 9-10 years old when we first met. Our families used to come together at BBQ’s on the weekends and I was a little girl with a crush! For a long time his family hadn’t been around anymore (about 6 years). In 2013 his father passed and my uncle asked me to attend the funeral. That summer, he was around a lot more and we hit it off at our annual 4th of July campland trip! It was like we were reunited at the most detrimental time for all of the right reasons.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

I have so many! But my number one is definitely the week we spent in the hospital together when our son was born. It was December of 2023 and there were so many moving parts, but he was my rock and I was his through all of the uncertainty. We spent the week traveling in and out of the NICU to be with our son, all while I was healing from an emergency c-section. But the day we took our son home, we felt like champions that just weathered through a storm together and came out with a gold medal.

What would you do with $20,000?

We are building our little family here in San Diego and as we all know, the price to buy a house is almost impossible. We would love to buy a house! $20,000 would be more than enough to help us with closing costs and a down payment! We attempted to purchase a home this year but we were shy about $1,000 a month and couldn’t afford the mortgage. We decided to rent an apartment once again and the goal is to try again next year.
