In 1981 I was 12 years old and had just moved into a new house in a new street. My old neighborhood was all I had known. My cousin Tasha became friends with this 11 year old little skinny girl that lived a few doors down. When I first laid eyes on her I told myself that I was going to marry her and this was all at the tender age of 12 and never having a girlfriend before this. I would rush to get my house chores done so I could go outside and play hopscotch with them. I did everything I could.
