How did your love story begin?

Sasha met JP at a bookstore, drawn to their warm smile. Though timing kept them apart, years later she asked JP out—and their love blossomed. As JP embraced life as nonbinary masc, Sasha’s love never wavered. She saw their soul, not the shell. With shared laughter, animals, books, and deep respect, they built a life together. Married now in Portland with their beloved pets, they live authentically—proof that true love sees you, wholly and always.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Sasha wanted her first kiss with JP to be epic, so she waited… until they were at a wild bird rescue. Nothing says romance like raptors! She prepped with a blue-tinted sugar lip scrub—soft lips achieved, but also slightly Smurf-colored. JP noticed. “Are your lips… blue?” Busted. She confessed mid-blush. They laughed on a bench until Sasha asked, “Wanna see if it worked?” JP did. Turns out, blue lips and bird poop smells can’t stop true love.

What would you do with $20,000?

After an accident last year, Sasha faces surgeries and therapy. JP and Sasha hope to use this support for medical care—and a healing trip to Disneyland. More than funds, they dream of showing the world that living authentically, especially as a queer couple, can be met with love, not limits. Their marriage is epic, and they believe their story can be a celebration of resilience, joy, and the power of being truly seen.
