Connect How did your love story begin?

We lived across the street from each other in our off campus beach houses during undergrad at the U of RI. Angela barged into the house the first weekend of senior year to meet Jake and his roommates one drunk night before heading to Charlie O’s. Although there was instant chemistry, we simply remained neighbors. After 3 years of just being great friends, we reconnected “post” covid and found ourselves driving around Narragansett together again, chasing sunsets and cold plunging into the ocean.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Jake use to travel a lot for work, as he was an ocean engineer on a research vessel. One of our favorite memories was when jake was out in Hawaii and flew Angela out to the islands to meet him at the end of one of his expeditions. We spend time on Oahu where jake gave Angela a tour of his ship, and met up with some of Jake’s friends out in Hilo on the big island. It was the greatest vacation we’ve ever been on and one of our favorite memories together.

What would you do with $20,000?

Jake recently was in a skiing accident in January 2025 where he broke his C6/C7 vertebrae and suffered a spinal cord injury leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. We would use this $$ towards Jake’s rehabilitation and cost of living while he is out of work. We would also use some of it to make payments towards Angela’s student loans.
