Mario was living in California and Gerry in Texas. We met in a Sony 30 something chat room online with dialup internet. Used a beeper to reach out. No cell phones at that time. Our home phone bills were outrageous. Mario came to Austin for our first meeting. We sent each other a photo via FedEx the day before we met so we would know what each other looks like. We were in love before even seeing each other after many long hours on the phone getting to know each other for about 9 months.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Many trips to Gualala. We love the Pacific Coast. Every house we rented had to have a hottub and a fireplace. Didn’t sleep in the beds. Pulled the mattress out in front of the fireplace. Mario’s mom would watch the kids for his birthday (2/14) so we could have romantic weekends away.
What would you do with $20,000?We love spending all our time together so I would plan a getaway to someplace we have never been. We travel when we can. Just took our honeymoon on a European Cruise. Even after being on the Grand Princess Covid Hawai’i Cruise in March 2020. Ended up in Quarantine for 2 weeks before we could go home. We would love to visit Asia.
