Connect How did your love story begin?

My (Logan) abusive ex husband left me when I became severely disabled by a near death experience due to my genetic condition, and Lucas swept in to save me. We had dated briefly, 10 years before, and he was my one who got away. We found each other again online and he has stuck with me through every terrifying turn my disabilities take. I spent 150 days of our first year together in the hospital, and he was there for all of it to. We fell in love over hospital dinners and during visiting hours.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

When I (Logan) was in the hospital the whole month of December, not only did Lucas bring two huge Santa sacks full of presents on Christmas, but he walked for 2 hours in a blizzard to come see me when all of my visitors bailed for the day. I texted him, "they aren't coming, the weather is too bad." And he texted back, "I figured. Im already halfway there." And he walked the whole way back again a few hours later. He just wanted to make sure I wasnt alone and see me smile.

What would you do with $20,000?

Because of my disabilities, Lucas is the sole breadwinner as my full time caregiver through insurance. I've been denied disability 3 times and am still trying to get it. We are genuinely struggling to get by on one income in this economy, and $20k would get us through a lot of hardship for maybe even a year if we play it right. It would mean less stress and worry when we're already dealing with so much.
