In 2003, I replaced a Minister and his wife in my new role. Spending time with them, I was so intrigued and moved when I saw the way they looked at each other. I realized no one in my life had ever looked at me that way, and they proved to me it was more than a Hollywood movie.I made the decision then “ I will live with someone and love someone and spend my life with someone that looks at me that way, and I will do the same for them.” 20 years later, we still do.

At 47 years old, I had been with a woman before and paid tremendous prices with my family. BB had not. I wasn’t sure if she could be gay-she was naïve to the difficulties. So one day she brought a song and played it entitled ‘10 years from now’ sharing how we would think and feel then. A couple years later, we visited where that Singer was going to be so- I surprised her in a huge auditorium. We walked in and there he was with the piano and he played that song for us. She melted as did I.

We will give some of it to our nonprofit Global Peace Workers, Int. I would also like to treat us to a European trip to Italy and Portugal and legally marry. After 20 years, it’s time. With the cultural backsliding in the US, it is timely to make sure we do so before new laws and rules stop our humanity from doing so. I would love for us to be chosen as America’s favorite couple so we can host a cruise for people to meet us and hear our story. It’s an amazing one and one which needs to be told.
