We've been best friends ever since middle school. We bring out the best in each other; we're both from broken families, breaking the streak.
We would like to thank you for supporting Teela and Julian in this year's competition. Your participation allows us to aid both the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and Oceana in their respective missions to support hunger relief and ocean conservation.
Our dads became friends when I was finished with elementary school, and I got introduced to Julian to help me get used to middle school. We became best friends, and I asked him to my junior prom. We went our separate ways that summer, and I didn't hear from him again until the pandemic, where I got punched in the face over instant noodles. His family found out through mine, and told him. We got back in contact, and been together ever since.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?Funnily enough, our first argument. Neither of us were good at communicating, and he was trying to describe strawberry banana jumex to me. He forgot the brand name, so he kept saying "it's like a smoothie, but it's not a smoothie, and it's in a blue can". I hadn't had jumex in years, so I completely forgot about it. The words got louder until we were shouting and I started crying from confusion. We've worked on our communication skills over the years, and now it's a funny inside joke between us.
What would you do with $20,000?We'd put half the money towards our wedding, and half of the money towards our future. I'm currently in college while working full time, and he's working full time as well. We try our best to save while living paycheck to paycheck.
