We worked at MMI with developmentally disabled clients, Larry was a direct staff and Chelsea was a specialist (like a case manager). Coincidentally, both of us almost didn't take the job. I was 41 and he was 53. We were both getting out of extremely bad marriages and hit it off immediately as friends, then our friendship grew to more. We felt from our first kiss that we were soul mates and could just tell that we were meant to be.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?I had not traveled much but wanted to see all 50 states, he had traveled a lot. For my 41st birthday, he took me to Myrtle Beach. I can't swim but LOVE the water. We were in the ocean just holding onto each other and laughing as waves hit us. That road trip was amazing! We drove from MI to OH, to KY (and got engaged at Cumberland Falls), to TN, to NC, to SC, thru WV and VI and home. Since, we've taken a couple big road trips together.
What would you do with $20,000?We recently opened an auto repair shop, which we keep small (just his son and us). We don't have much for retirement since he has only worked for himself for much of his life, and when he retires (he's 12 years older than me), he wants me to as well. We would pay bills, and travel, and put some away so we can retire and travel.
