We are high school sweethearts who made it through cross-country moves, having a child with epilepsy, and a fire. Now, we homestead!
You decide who wins $20,000 and appears in Variety magazine as America’s Favorite Couple
While in middle school John was attending a small private school where Kelley’s older brother was in high school. One night at her older brother‘s basketball game John spotted Kelley from across the gym. He leaned over to his buddy & said I’m gonna marry that girl. He asked who she was and John said “I don’t know yet”. Fast-forward Kelley is attending that school where John and her become fast friends. They dated for 3 years, broke up and were apart for 3 years, dated for 6 weeks and got engaged
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple? While engaged, John took Kelley kayaking for the first time at Peninsula State Park where he had proposed. The wind was pretty strong resulting in choppy water so while they were paddling out to horseshoe Island, Kelley was being sprayed by the cold water and emitting high pitch screams. You need to know that Kelley is not a screamer. John was thinking oh no this could be the end until Kelley turned around beaming, ecstatic about how much fun she was having. There are many. But this is a good 1.
What would you do with $20,000?We have a heart for hurting people so we would use the money to rebuild our workshop that burnt down two years ago and put a small apartment on the second story in order to provide a safe space for the people we love who need some time to take a break and heal. Our shop burned down shortly after we had started our own small business and we would really love to have that space again coupled with a space to take care of those in need.
