How did your love story begin?

Well I moved from Louisiana to Florida at 23 all by myself for a fresh start and thought what better way to start then going on a date with a stranger from a dating app two days after I moved in. On our first date she could barely look me in the eye and it was the sweetest thing I’d seen in a long time, and that first date lasted 5 hours. We never stopped talking after that and a month later we were attached at the hip driving an hour and a half each way after work every weekend to spend time.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

I have two, of course. The first being when 9 months into our relationship she said she may be getting military orders across the country and my answer was when do we leave, prompting our small secret beach elopement where 7 of our closest friends were present. Two of those friends flew in from California and South Korea. The second being my trip to her home town in Massachusetts to meet her family and friends who all love to laugh at the southern girl!

What would you do with $20,000?

I think I speak for both of us when I say we would use this money to finally feel like we could truly set ourselves up for the future. We hope to have children and with the country going the direction it currently is it feels like now more than ever the future that we dream of is becoming harder to obtain. I know many people could change their life with this amount of money but for us it would mean security and hope for our future in ways that others never have to think about.
