Tanner and I met in the tiny village of Elfin Cove, where our jobs kept us crossing paths—me hauling fish at the barge, him fueling boats at the dock. I caught his eye every day, and he loved my grit. I secretly adored how he always smelled like diesel. One night, I finally spilled the beans and told him I liked him. We went on a date the very next day, and by the end of the night, I ended up at his place—and never left, just like he asked.
What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?While hunting in Elfin Cove, Tanner got a deer so I held the boat. A huge wave hit, pinning me between the boat and a rock. I yelled, and Tanner dropped the deer, diving into the 35° water to save me. “Stay calm, I’ll always protect you,” he said. Another wave hit, freeing the boat. We pulled ourselves in, bailing water with a pot left onboard. Just as we steadied the boat, the deer floated by—we grabbed it. Alaska tried to take us, but we saved each other.
What would you do with $20,000?Personally would like to pay for my husband’s back surgery and recovery therapy. For Tanner he would like it to go towards a house.
