How did your love story begin?

Tim and I were both married when we met at Comic-con. We both loved each other's cosplays and were interested in learning the type of medium the other had used to craft them. He invited me to a kind of get together at his house where artists would share crafting styles with each other, but his wife approached me later and uninvited me without his knowledge. Years later his abusive wife left him in a very harsh way and some friends and I gathered to show him support, where he and I reconnected.

What is your favorite memory you've shared as a couple?

Both our former spouses were controlling and abusive, so we both craved someone who would want to enjoy our hobbies and love us freely. I know Tim's deeply moved by music and comedy, so I encouraged him to try his first comedy open mic and he loved it, and the crowd loved him as well. I also took him to his very first concert, a heavy metal festival that featured some of his favorite artists, opening him up to a whole world he'd never been allowed to experience and he blossomed in it.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use it to take our family (we have 2 kids and we adopted a third as a teenager) to experience something new. We have always wanted our family to explore the roots of our ancestry, going on a trip to Europe to visit our Danish/Swedish/Germanic histories and let our kids experience other cultures aside from the American one that we wish was more inclusive.
